YSTRAL Coflow

The YSTRAL Coflow is a continuously operating inline powder wetting and dispersing machine for the production of dispersions. With this technology, powders can be continuously mixed in, homogenised and dispersed in liquids in proportion to quantity.In the chemical industry, YSTRAL Coflow for example is suitable for the production of adhesives, coatings, polyester resins or silicone sealants. Amongst others, in the food sector, the continuously operating powder wetting and dispersing machine is the suitable solution for pre-products for dough production, milk and milk substitute products, as well as the production of edible collagen shells, mayonnaise or dressings.

The YSTRAL Coflow provides you with the following advantages

  • Less additional air intake into the product due to special tool geometry of the mixing and dispersing tool
  • Low space requirement, as no process vessel is needed
  • Low personnel requirement, as this system is operated fully automatically
  • Consistent product quality due to innovative measuring technology (in-process control)
  • Shorter cleaning time and less need for cleaning media compared to manufacturing processes with mixing vessel

This is how YSTRAL Coflow works

  • By using YSTRAL Coflow, powdered solids are inducted, mixed and dispersed into liquid streams in a controlled way and in proportion to quantity via volumetric or gravimetric solid dosing systems.
  • Fine dispersion then occurs via a rotor-stator system, whereby the dispersing tools can be designed with different slot widths depending on the application.
  • The product is subjected to a pressure increase via an inducer installed between the premixing zone and the rotor-stator zone, which causes separation of the air inducted with the powder, thus resulting in a lower residual air content in the product.
